6.  GARDEN CITY:  Voted to continue their participation in Share the Light, a program matching needy youngsters to volunteer holiday gift givers.  They hope to match last year's participation providing for than 25 children, according to CLARK HOWARD.....  Religious Education children and other social action minded members led the junior youth group on the LI Aids Walk at Heckscher park.

8.  HUNTINGTON: LIZA BURBY e-mailed great news:  a meeting of LEARN (Let's End All Racism Now) was held to plan an Evening Fellowship with the Bethel AME Church including a choir concert and potluck supper to give support to worthy teens for college; outreach; a Kwanzaa service, etc.... The UUFH Helping Hands Mission donates necessary food to the neediest in the area....The white ribbons worn by more and more men and women to support the work of Men Against Violence Against Women during the week of October 18 - 25.  Even the politicians are on the bandwagon!...Be sure to get to the Huntington Congregation to hear GEOFFREY CANADA on December 6 talk about youth violence.

9.  N. FORK (GREENPORT): A local family expressed its appreciation to the congregation which adopted it and raised needed funds for necessities as food and clothing.  Everyone wins!  This is an ongoing commitment of the UU's....October 25 is the date of the Crop Walk which raises funds for several local groups helping local people.  (Think globally, act locally!)

10. SHELTER ROCK:  An exciting evening with GEOFFREY CANADA, author of FIST STICK KNIFE GUN on October 18!... Some of the older youth joined the thousands in the LI Aids Walk....The white ribbon project Men Against Violence Against Women was discussed by BERT NAPIER.  NC Exec. TOM GULOTTA declared Oct 18-25 White Ribbon
