Social Justice Roundtable

The Long Island UU Social Justice Roundtable provides a space to:

  • bring congregations together to communicate and collaborate,
  • link with nonprofits fighting for social justice,
  • strategize with other progressive faith allies, and
  • develop tools for bearing witness to strengthen the voice of UUism to promote social justice on Long Island.

Side With Love
We affirm universal love as the foundation for our actions in the world. Through our Side With Love campaign we amplify the voices of the oppressed through the use of media by showing up at justice events, by lobbying legislators, and more. Above all, we work to make love real in the world.

Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism, BLUU
Formed in the wake of several conversations among Black UUs at the July 2015 Movement for Black Lives Convening in Cleveland, OH, the BLUU Organizing Collective works to provide support, information, and resources for Black Unitarian Universalists. BLUU works to expand the role and visibility of Black UUs within our faith.

Immigrants Belong
The inherent humanity and safety of every guest seeking asylum or a better life is part of our belief. We engage in actions that support those who need a temporary or permanent home and are met without violence or separation from loved ones.
