What is the Student Internship Program all about?
Social Action, Advocacy & Service LIAC’s Student Internship Program encourages young Unitarian Universalists to live their religious values through paid internships.
The program is made possible by the Student Activity Fund. SAF is a grant-program funded by the Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program at Shelter Rock.
Who can participate in the Student Internship Program?
To participate you must:
Be entering your senior year of High School in the Fall of 2021 for a 2021 Summer Internship
Be an undergraduate college or trade school student, a gap year student, or just graduated college in Spring of 2021
In addition, you must:
Be under the age of 25 on June 1 of the year of application
Be a member or a child of member in good standing of a Long Island Unitarian Universalist Congregation
Will I receive a monetary award for my work?
Most student interns work between 10 – 35 hours per week for as many weeks as their schedule permits during the summer & school breaks. Students can also work part time during the school year.
Due to social distancing, remote internships may be approved for the summer of 2021. Any online internships must be evaluated individually by the SAF Program Director.
